What is my role?
My role is to look after the care and welfare of our residents and staff. I believe that happy staff at work, provide great care for residents. I enjoy my job and gain a great deal of satisfaction from knowing that the people who live at our care home are well looked after.
I manage many aspects in the Home from organising social activities to ensuring end of life care is of an excellent standard.

The continuity of the service here at Hawksbury House and the special staff that work here, really makes Hawksbury House unique. Many staff have worked here for many years – some of our staff have worked here in excess of 20 years. That level of loyalty, skill and expertise is irreplaceable.

I enjoy working with people and trying to make a positive difference to their lives. I enjoy planning care with residents and then seeing the enjoyment that their care plan can bring.
How long have I worked at Hawksbury House?
I have worked in the Care Home since 1985 and became the Manager in 1991. Previously I had worked as a qualified Staff Nurse at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
What’s the most important part of your job?
I am passionate about looking after people properly and giving them the respect they deserve. I personally supervise all the Care at Hawksbury House and work at the home full time. My highly trained staff and I take a personal pride in the service we provide.
I have wonderful support from Cath Pearson and Gillian Pooley (Senior Staff). They are highly motivated and extremely committed to their role. With their help we are fortunate to lead a professional team of Carers, Cleaners and Cooks with an impressive pedigree.
